Founded in 2011 by Alonso Alegre and María Paz Revoredo, Educa College Prep was created with the purpose of guiding Latin American students on their journey to elite universities. Currently operating from Panama, Educa has established itself as a leader in international admissions in Latin America.

Our History and Leadership

Over the years, we have worked with hundreds of families from Panama, Peru, Mexico, Colombia, and many other countries in the region. Today, Educa combines experience, innovation, and a highly trained team to guide each student toward their best academic future.

Alonso Alegre

Academic Director and Co-Founder

Alonso Alegre is one of the most experienced Latin American SAT exam preparation specialists, having worked continuously in this field since 2004. For more than two decades, he has successfully guided hundreds of students in the region on their path to achieving competitive scores that have opened the doors to elite universities such as Princeton, Yale, Stanford, MIT, and many others.

He holds two international master’s degrees: one in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, part of the Ivy League, and another in Business Administration from Babson College, recognized as the number one school for entrepreneurship in the United States.

Educational Innovation and the Training of New Generations

Passionate about education, Alonso has dedicated all his professional experience to the design and constant innovation of Educa’s SAT Prep Course, considered the most comprehensive program in Latin America. He has also served as a professor of Entrepreneurship at Universidad del Pacífico in Lima, Peru, an experience through which he has sought to generate social impact by training new generations of students in innovation and leadership.

Global Participation and Contribution to Education

Alonso has also led training talks for university counselors and management teams, and has participated as a guest on prominent regional podcasts.

In addition, he is the creator of the College Insiders and Degrees Overseas podcasts, spaces dedicated to democratizing access to international education and sharing the experiences of Latin American students at universities abroad.

Maria Paz Revoredo

Director of Admission Counseling and Co-Founder

Maria Paz Revoredo is one of the most experienced Latin American professionals in the field of university counseling. Throughout her career, she has successfully guided hundreds of Latin American students on their path to admission to elite universities such as Stanford, Yale, MIT, and Cambridge, among many others.

Her experience as a counselor has established her as a regional leader in highly competitive admission processes.

International Academic Training

She holds two international master’s degrees: one in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, part of the Ivy League, and another in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from HEC Paris, one of the most prestigious business schools in Europe.

This training complements her experience, providing her with a global and up-to-date vision of international education.

Participation and Contribution in the Field of Education Globally

As a renowned international speaker, Maria Paz has been invited to present at conferences and forums on higher education, as well as on leading podcasts and school events across Latin America.

She has trained management teams and university counselors in various countries and, as part of her commitment to transparency and access to information, has visited more than 150 universities around the world.

She documents this experience on Educa’s YouTube channel, with more than 300 videos on admissions.

She has also volunteered with the International Association for College Admission Counseling: she was a member of the Governance & Nominating Committee (2021–2022) and currently serves on the Admissions Practices Committee, where she will remain until 2027.

We are members of the International Association for College Admission Counseling (International ACAC), the world’s largest network of professionals in college admissions and international counseling, with a presence in more than 130 countries.

Its mission is to facilitate global interactions between counselors and institutions to support students in their transition to top-tier higher education, ensuring principles of ethics and social responsibility.

In addition, our co-founder, Maria Paz Revoredo, is a member of the association’s Admissions Practices Committee, a position she will hold until 2027.

We hold a specialization in College Counseling from UCLA, recognized as the most comprehensive program in the United States for advising on the application process to American universities.
